Room11 trip to the the Botanical Gardens
Have you ever been to the Botanical Gardens? I have! When I got to school I got organised myself. I put on my rain jacket, lunch in the box, drink bottle away and my name tag on. After that we walked to the bus. We got on the bus with partners. Next we had to find our seats. The bus went zoom! zoom! zoom! It was a long drive. When we got to the Botanical Gardens we had our morning tea. Next we went to the Herb Garden. At the Herb Garden there was a soft plant wich felt like a lion’s ear. In my group there was Una, Quinn, Chadd and me. At the Herb Garden there were lots of things. There was a radio thing that made noises. There were beautiful red lovely flowers and a pink flower. Next we met at the picnic place. After we went to the Edible Garden. There was lots of eating things at the Edible Garden like lettuce, salad, tomatoes and some flowers. At the Edible garden there was lots of buzzing silly bees getting pollen to make honey. We had to walk in the gooey, sticky, yucky mud. There was a tunnel and it was squirting water on me. My dad showed us a plant growing in a rock. There was a big gigantic, huge, large cactus. It was prickly. There was a maze. After that we went to the pump everyone was pumping like the people in the old days. It was funny. Miss Ramsay our teacher took photos of us in the silly egg. Next Meredith our self guided tutor took us to a messy shed. She told us that we were going to make a plant. First we took a yoghurt pot. Then we put our name on the sticky name tag. Next we took some dirt and pushed it down. We had to water our plants at school. After we planted our own seeds but this time we watered it. Then we swept the floor. After that we went back to school. It was a fun trip!

My amazing day at the Botanical Gardens!
Wow I went to the Botanical gardens yesterday. First I
went to school. I needed to organize myself by putting the drink bottle and my
lunch in the box. Then I got a sticker with my name on. After that Miss Ramsay did
the roll. Then we went on the bus I sat with Keeley. It was noisy! When we got
off the bus I had morning tea. Next I went to the herb garden. I was in
Nicole’s mum’s group with Keeley. Nicole and Robert and I smelt some flowers in
the herb garden. Then me and my group went to the potter’s children’s garden. There
was a fake pooing pigeon and a jungle with steam, there was also a pump I had a
turn at pumping it. I went over the troll bridge I heard the sound of water
after a while it started raining. I went inside to have lunch. Next me and my
group went to the Edible garden. It was like a maze, and I even saw worms and
green bananas and other plants too.
After that my whole class planted seeds in a yogurt container, the hole
needed to be two centre metres deep, otherwise the stem wouldn’t come up.
Meredith gave us some gloves to put on because we were going to do some
gardening. First we needed to get a plant. Then we needed to get a spade to dig
a hole and put the plant in. We also needed to get some sheep pooh to put in. Did
you know every fruit or vegetable we eat grows from a kind of pooh. Next we put
the plant in the hole and covered the hole with dirt. After that we had some
jobs to do like sweeping the dirt into piles I did the sweeping. Then we went
inside a class room we sat in a circle and were split into groups. Everyone in
my group had a piece of food in their hand, we needed to put them on the right
plate on the plates were written seed, leaf, root, and fruit. Next we had
another thing to do we had to put the plant with what the plant makes in a bag.
After we had done that we went back on the bus and back to school. The
Botanical gardens was very fun I want to go again.

Our fabulous trip to the
Botanical gardens.
Guess what! Room 11,21,13 and 24 went to the Botanical
Gardens, first I went to school to get organised. We needed to put our lunch in
a box, put our drink bottle in a box too, and finally get our name tags. Then
Miss Ramsay did the roll. Everyone was here. After that Miss Ramsay quickly
told us our groups. I was in Shiloh’s group. I was with Shiloh, Shiloh’s mum,
Joshua, and Liam. Then we hopped on the bus. Next we ate morning tea. I had
cheese and crackers, grapes and shapes. The grapes were green like grass. After
morning tea Meredith and Paul introduced themselves. Meredith is a pretty
woman. Next Meredith took Room 24 and 13 to a little room. The rest of us got
to look around. First our group went to the pretty herb garden. We saw lots of
pretty flowers. I don’t know which garden the soft plant was in. Then we went
to the edible garden. I smelt a lot of veges. The vegetables smelt as strong as
a carrot. But then it started raining! So we went back to where we had morning
tea. Just then Mrs Rinckes thought of a brilliant idea. She suggested we eat
lunch first. I had a little croissant thing and some yummy grapes. After lunch
we went to the edible garden again. We saw some lettuce and thyme and I forgot
the rest of it. After that we went to the potters children garden. There was a
cactus, and a Jungle with water sprays in it. I think I might go to the
Botanical Gardens again!

First I got ready to go to the Botanical Gardens. We put our
lunch boxes in a green box. Then we went on the bus. When we got there we ate
our morning tea. Next we walked around to look at the plants. One of the plants
was warm and fluffy. I was in Shiloh’s mums group with Shiloh, Joshua and Mia. We
saw beautiful flowers and we planted a seed. We saw a banana tree. I also saw a
strawberry garden. After lunch we went to the edible garden. In the classroom
we made a plant. First we got a yoghurt container that had holes and wrote our
name on it. Then we put soil inside the yoghurt container and we put a seed
inside. I hope I can go to the Botanical Gardens again.

The Trip!
Wow! Did you know room 13, 11,
24, and 21 went to the Botanical Gardens yesterday because we are learning
about plants. First we needed to be organised
and we put on our rain jackets because we didn’t know if it was going to
rain when we got there, then we got our
name tags from Miss Ramsay and we put our lunches in a blue box. We did
the same with our drink bottles, but in a different box. Then we got on the
bus. There were so many people, we had two buses! Both of them were Howick and
Eastern buses. When we got there we had morning tea already! I thought we were
going to eat morning tea after we had explored a little! I was with Neerav,
Ian, and Aarav and Aarav’s Dad because I was in their group. Then we had a walk
around. Did you know a flower was really soft! Then we went into the Jungle. At
the top was some water and sometimes it squirts out water when and it makes a
noise like a Ferry. That was my favourite part. Then it started raining so we
went back to the courtyard to have our lunch. I had chicken bread. It was yum!
After lunch we went with Meredith to plant a bean seed. We got a yoghurt
container and planted the bean seed in it. Then we put some soil in the yoghurt
container and made the soil really tight. Next we poked our pinky in the soil
and put in the bean seed. We patted the yoghurt container so the bean seed was
covered with soil. Meredith gave us a fully grown plant of a bean seed. We took
a shovel to help us and put our fist into the soil and then we dug up the soil.
After that we got three sheep poo pellets and put them in the hole we had made.
We squeezed the container, and held the plants stem with a “v” shape upside
down and put the plant in the soil. Then we watered it. It was so much fun!
Last of all we went into the classroom and Meredith showed us a plant puzzle. I
learnt that plants need animal poo to grow. It was so much fun that I wish I
could go again!

The Amazing Botanical Gardens!
Wow did you know on Monday room 11 went to
Botanical garden Room 11 needed to split into groups. We all
had fun. My group was Loretta, Aayush,
Vera and me. First my groups went walking around and we saw some plants. The
Botanical Gardens lady took us to her garden. We planted our own plants. The
best part was when I was sweeping and Miss Ramsay said I’m the best sweeper
ever in Room 11. I liked to water the plants too. Plants need soil too. We went
back to school. I was very happy I can’t wait to go there again.

Capacity!
We were learning about Capacity! We had lots of fun looking at how much water it takes to fill up different sized containers. Do you know how many cups it takes to fill an ice cream container? Do you know how many yoghurt pottles it takes to fill a 2L milk bottle?
